Melanie Lynch


Melanie is an award-winning creative and social entrepreneur with a passion for justice, equality and storytelling. Starting a degree in Mathematics & Philosophy at Trinity College Dublin, she decided to take a detour and enrolled in art college, leading her to work for some of the world's best advertising agencies.

As an intern at Bartle Bogle Hegarty she penned Barnardo’s 'Life Story', which increased donations by £2million and volunteering applications by 50%, with an estimated payback to society of £24million. Across the pond in Paris she worked for Fred&Farid, SIDLEE and Saatchi's. Despite the fact that she’s only 3% French, Melanie was chosen to represent France in the 2013 Global Cannes Young Lions Competition. In 2014, she was runner-up in The Drum Woman of the Year, an award to recognise exceptional women in the British creative industries. 

Back home in Ireland, Melanie is Creative Director of the new Heart of Ireland (Hi) Festival, where she has the pleasure of working with her mother Maria Bourke, Founder and Director of the Hi Festival. The Heart of lreland is a celebration of Real people and the Real Ireland. Their objective is to make goodness cool through game-changing creative projects. Melanie programmed 73 events over 4 days from the Irish Chamber Orchestra to pig-racing. The inaugural Hi festival was sponsored by 88 businesses and garnered press coverage on RTÉ Nationwide, Sunday Independent, The Irish Times, RTÉ Radio 1 and more.
